Although all forms of prostate troubles are not serious, there are many that require medical treatment. And nearly all of the treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer have the potential to cause sexual problems. Surgery or radiation therapy can cause impotence or erectile dysfunction. BPH medicines and hormone therapy can result in a diminished sex drive as well as erectile dysfunction. Poor Prostate health can also cause stress and emotional anxiety which can have an adverse effect on a man’s sex drive.

Medical experts believe that prostate problem can be treated via multiple options such as Surgery (radical prostatectomy is a surgery to remove the whole prostate gland and the nearby lymph nodes), watchful waiting (where in the patient gets no treatment as the prostate tumor is slow growing , but is under observation from the doctor regularly), hormone therapy (hormone therapy lowers the level of the male hormones called androgens, are which produced mostly in the testicles. Androgens, such as testosterone, help the prostate tumor grow), alpha blockers (such as doxasozin, terazosin help relax muscles near the prostate), Cryosurgery (kills the cancer by freezing it) or even Brachytherapy (a type of radiation therapy often used when the cancer is found only in the prostate gland).
